1853 - FCJs took charge of Girls' Day

1886 - Evening classes for Factory girls
1900 - Move to The Hollies, Fallowfield
1919 - Purchase of Staneswood
1920 - Purchase of The Acorns
1926 - HMI Inspection
Received recognition as a grant-earning Secondary School
1930 - HMI Inspection
1938 - Purchase of Oak Bank
1944 - The Butler Education Act
1945 - Status as Direct Grant Grammar School
1949 - HMI Inspection
1955 - Planned expansion proposed
1956 - Compulsary Purchase Order
announced for site.
Fund raising for new school begins
1960s - Contractors move in and start building work
1961 - Move into new school
1977 - First Comprehensive intake
1978 - Prep. School closes to house new, enlarged secondary school intake
1979 - Last 6th formers leave
1984 - New School name
1985 - Closure of the Hollies' site
